Fiber. Not a very exciting word, but its something many of us are lacking. Plant-based options are full of fiber—and they make you full, in a good way. Animal products have zero fiber. Why is this important? Well, fiber plays a starring role in your body for digestion, cancer prevention, and even weight loss. Soluble fiber is found in oats, beans and other legumes, and some fruits and vegetables, and it lowers cholesterol levels. Insoluble fiber—found in whole grains, fruits and vegetables, kidney beans, and bran—acts like a broom, cleaning your digestive tract. Now that’s a bit more exciting, isn’t it?
